How it works on your site
Geometra, from Nexterity, Inc., is a clamp-on bolting tool that makes up and breaks out bolted flanged joints on NPS 2 to 6 industrial pipe with class 150 and 300 flanges, torquing four bolts at a time. The operator carries, clamps and aligns the tool at the joint by hand, then steps back and runs the bolting or unbolting sequence from a gamepad-style controller, a standoff the vendor puts at more than 20 ft. Nexterity calls Geometra a first prototype, and the only published offer is a managed service at $25,000 per 12-hour shift, with Nexterity's own field team running the tool.
