How it works on your site
Sage is Planted Solar's announced next-generation field installation machine for utility-scale solar, and Planted describes it as autonomous. Its job is installing foundation posts for Planted's own fixed-tilt, terrain-following racking; crews attach the modules. Sage is pre-commercial with zero deployments of its own, and Planted says it enters the field in late 2026; the current fleet it follows, Caterpillar-based machines with an operator in the cab, is committed through 2027.
