How it works on your site
ARRES Eye is a laser scanning unit that fits on the roof rack of an existing working vehicle and scans the road surface for cracks, potholes and other defects while the vehicle drives. Robotiz3d's Control Tower web software classifies each defect, ranks it by severity and plots it on a map. In Hertfordshire County Council's trial, described by the Local Government Association and by the council itself, a unit on a council vehicle's roof rack logged each defect's size, depth, location and severity while the vehicle went about its usual duties, with no dedicated survey run. Robotiz3d, a University of Liverpool spin-out, launched ARRES Eye in 2023 and lists it as shipping; its named trial customer is Hertfordshire County Council, which followed a short-route trial with a long-term trial in 2025, and the government-backed Zenzic CAM Scale-Up programme benchmarked it on Greenwich public roads without publishing results.
