How it works on your site
The Brokk 120D is a tracked, remote-controlled diesel demolition robot from Brokk of Sweden that runs without a power cable; the operator drives it from a SmartRemote by radio up to 300 m or by cable. It works through swappable hydraulic attachments (breaker, crusher, drum cutter and grapples) on structural demolition, soft strip and material sorting. The 120Dii is shipping: the original 120D came out in 2016 and the 120Dii (Mark 2) in January 2017, and the one user in the RIC record is JR RAMON on a Texas bridge job, from a Brokk-sourced story. The current generation is sold as the 120Dii.
Material Sorting & Segregation
With a clamshell bucket or sorting grapple fitted, the operator picks and separates debris after breaking, from the same remote.
Soft-Strip / Selective Salvage
Brokk offers multi-purpose and sorting/demolition grapples for the 120Dii and describes them as suited to soft demolition and stripping structures inside buildings.
Structural Demolition
The standard tool is the BHB 155 hydraulic breaker, for which Brokk lists 254 J impact energy, 850-1,900 blows/min and a 140 kg weight; a concrete crusher and a drum cutter for trenching and concrete surface work go on the same arm. The operator runs every function from the SmartRemote, standing clear of the breaking face.
