How it works on your site

Déploya Robotics, an EPFL spin-off in Lausanne, is developing a vertical grid for facade work that folds on origami principles, deploys rapidly up the building and carries mobile robots on integrated rails. The first version mounts on existing scaffolding, projects the CAD facade layout onto the wall and runs AI-based visual checks for scaffolding anomalies; marking and drilling come next, then full panel installation. The system is at prototype stage and targets ventilated facades and cladding first.

Scaffolding Erection

Déploya's grid folds flat on origami principles and deploys rapidly up the facade, giving the access structure that hand-erected scaffolding gives today. Mobile robots ride rails built into the grid to each work position. The system is a prototype, and its first version still mounts on existing scaffolding.

Will it work on your site

Site preparation
The grid folds flat on origami principles and deploys rapidly on the facade. The first version mounts on existing scaffolding.
Positional accuracy
Millimetre accuracy on facade work, as stated by the maker for its prototype.
BIM/CAD requirements
Facade CAD drawings, converted directly into robot operations and projected onto the wall as the layout.
Navigation
Mobile robots move vertically along the facade on rails integrated into the grid.
Safety design
Built to reduce work at height for facade crews. The first version adds AI-based visual checks that flag scaffolding anomalies.
Environment
Building facades, starting with ventilated facade and cladding installation.

Generation
Prototype stage. The maker started in August 2025 and has built a first prototype and an initial demonstrator.
Other capabilities
Roadmap on the same grid: marking and drilling, then full facade panel installation.

As the maker states it.
