Scaffold assembly robot for PERI UP systems

How it works on your site

Genio is a research prototype from PERI SE, developed with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), which describes it as a mobile robot with two robotic arms for robot-aided assembly of PERI UP scaffolding. SDU says it takes on parts of the assembly process, positioning, lifting and connecting PERI UP components; no source describes it erecting a complete scaffold. PERI showed Genio as a live exhibit at bauma 2025 in Munich, and SDU says it has so far only been tested in closed, controlled environments.

Scaffolding Erection

Genio positions, lifts and connects PERI UP components, following an assembly sequence a scaffolder defines beforehand in a 3D environment. SDU says the robot is designed to be very mobile and to handle components that are not identical, including parts dented and scratched from years of use. PERI presents the project as research into using robotics to offset the shortage of skilled labour in scaffolding.
