How it works on your site

BotBuilt's robots are repurposed industrial arms that work in pairs on rails in BotBuilt's own factories, using computer vision to turn a builder's house plans into wood-framed wall panels and trusses, which are trucked to the site and assembled there. Builders buy the components; BotBuilt owns and runs every robot cell, and no builder operates one. The robots have been in production in North Carolina since 2022, and the company puts the homes framed at 27 (its CTO, April 2025) or 40 (Offsite Innovators), two figures that differ and both come from BotBuilt.

Component Fabrication (Panels, Frames)

BotBuilt's software converts the builder's 2D house plans into a 3D framing model, a step the CTO puts at about 2 hours per plan. In BotBuilt's factory, pairs of repurposed automotive arms (160 to 210 kg payload, per the CTO) travel on rails, pick lumber with vacuum grippers, read each board with stereo vision and nail up panels and trusses. The finished components are trucked to the site, where the builder's crew assembles them; the CEO told Beaumont Bailey the assembly resembles "an Ikea product".
