How it works on your site

The Brokk 500 is a 5,200 kg tracked, mains-electric demolition robot that the operator drives by remote control. It breaks concrete with a breaker or crusher in structural demolition, strips interiors for soft-strip and selective salvage, and sorts material with grapples or a bucket. Brokk unveiled the 500 at CONEXPO in March 2017 as the successor to the Brokk 400 and still lists it among its products; its own successor, the Brokk 500+, followed in January 2024 and takes its place in Brokk's compare-models table.

Material Sorting & Segregation

A clamshell bucket, multi-purpose grapple or sorting/demolition grapple lets the operator load, sort and separate demolition debris from the remote. Brokk also lists metal shears for the 500 for cutting steel.

Soft-Strip / Selective Salvage

Brokk fits the 500 with a sorting/demolition grapple or a multi-purpose grapple for soft demolition, pulling out structures inside buildings while the operator works the SmartRemote from a distance.

Structural Demolition

The operator drives the 500 to the work face and runs a hydraulic breaker or a concrete crusher from the SmartRemote, away from the breaking. Brokk pairs the 500 with the BHB 705 breaker, states that it takes every Brokk 400 attachment, and shows a CC700 concrete crusher on its Brokk 500 product sheet; Brokk markets crushers for demolition with less noise, dust and vibration.
