How it works on your site
The Canvas 2000CX is a battery-powered, worker-supervised drywall finishing robot built on a Universal Robots UR10e cobot arm, designed for tall-ceiling commercial and institutional interiors above 12 feet. It sprays and sands Level 4 and Level 5 joint compound on interior drywall, including L5 skim coating; taping, first coat, corner work, board hanging, and complex geometries stay with the crew. The 2000CX has been shipping since 2020 and is now distributed by JLG Industries following the January 2026 Oshkosh Corporation acquisition.
Finishing (Second and Third Coats)
The 2000CX sprays L4 and L5 coats and sands dried compound on walls and ceilings up to 20+ feet without scaffolding. Onboard LIDAR and 3D sensors identify taped seams and map work areas without BIM files or pre-scanning; L4 Targeted Spray mode targets only taped seams while full-surface mode sprays everything. The crew continues to handle taping, corners, and complex geometries while the robot covers the broad, high-volume flat sections.
Sanding
The same robot that sprayed the wall returns and sands it. The capture system is designed to pull silica exposure off the crew during what is otherwise the highest-exposure phase of finishing work.
Skim Coating (Level 5 Only)
The 2000CX auto-positions along the wall and sprays a continuous L5 coat of joint compound over the full surface, extending 20+ ft for the tall walls of data centers, hospitals and warehouses. Its onboard software maps the area and handles alignment, calibration and force control while it applies material, and JLG states one worker can run two machines. Taping, first coat and corners stay with the crew before the L5 pass.
