Summary

The Okibo EG7 is a battery-powered, operator-supervised wheeled robot that paints, finishes, and sands interior walls and ceilings up to 10 feet of effective reach. It covers five subtasks within interior finishing: painting, priming, drywall finishing (L4/L5), skim coating, and sanding; taping, corners, board hanging, and exterior work stay with the crew. The EG7 launched in Europe in 2023 (CE-certified) and in the US in April 2025, with 7 confirmed deployments across the US and DACH region.

How it works on your site

Finishing (Second and Third Coats)

The EG7 applies joint compound using AI-guided path planning and onboard 3D scanning with no pre-mapping or BIM input. Quick-change end effectors let the operator swap between finishing, sanding, and painting modes without tool changeout downtime.

Sanding

The EG7 swaps its onboard pump and hopper cage for an enclosed dust collector to perform sanding passes. The dust collection system is designed to pull airborne particulate off the crew during what is otherwise the highest-exposure phase of the finishing job. The EG6 predecessor handles ceiling sanding up to 11 feet.

Skim Coating (Level 5 Only)

The EG7 applies L5 skim coats to walls and ceilings using the same 3D scanning and real-time path planning as its other application modes. The operator supervises the pass and performs light touch-ups on completion.

Priming

The BLASTER double-nozzle spray attachment covers a 4-foot board width in two passes at heights up to 24 feet on the EG7+. Commercially available since February 2026.

Painting

The EG7 sprays paint and coatings to walls and ceilings up to 12 feet of working height, eliminating overhead ladder and scaffolding work for the crew. Onboard 3D scanning builds a real-time model of the room; no BIM files, total stations, or pre-markings are needed. The operator guides the robot to the room, fills the 70-liter hopper, starts the machine, monitors output, and performs light touch-ups.
