How it works on your site

The MS550 is a compact wheeled laser screed from Masterscreed: a 4WD machine with a Honda petrol engine that an operator drives into the pour by wireless radio control. It screeds and levels freshly placed concrete slabs, holding its screed head to the elevation set by a laser transmitter. Masterscreed introduced the MS550 in 2016 and the UK dealer Screed Giant lists it; in June 2026 Masterscreed reused the MS550's product page for its new MS599, and RIC found no documented deployment or named customer.

Screeding and Leveling

The operator drives the 4WD MS550 into the pour by wireless radio remote, standing wherever gives the best view of the slab. Two Trimble LR410 receivers read the laser plane, and the LEVmaster Ultimate system works high-speed valves to hold the screed head to it. The crew still sets up the laser transmitter and places the concrete, and on mesh, rebar or steel decking they bolt on the second MX wheel system to spread the machine's weight.
