How it works on your site

Toggle's Weaver Workcell pre-assembles rebar cages, mats and mesh off site: industrial robot arms place long bars and stirrups into a fixture and weld or wire-tie the connections, working from rebar details imported into Toggle OS. Skilled operators run the cell and a construction expert inspects every tie and weld; the tagged assemblies are trucked to the jobsite, where the crew drops them into the excavation or forms and pours. Toggle installed its first Weaver Workcell at its Pottstown, Pennsylvania prefabrication plant, and the company now presents itself as a quality-control platform for fabricators.

Rebar Placement and Tying

Robot arms load long bars and stirrups into a fixture set to the cage geometry and weld or wire-tie the connections in Toggle's facility. A construction expert inspects every tie and weld, and the tagged cage ships to site, where the crew lowers it into the excavation or forms.

  1. Weaver WorkcellImage: Toggle

Toggle pre-assembled the rebar cages for Miller Bros.' battery storage foundations at the Philadelphia Navy Yard off site and inspected every tie and weld, so the crew only dropped each cage into its excavation and poured, saving about a week per foundation.

Toggle pre-assembled the rebar for Miller Bros.' duct bank reinforcements, 50 manhole slabs and aerial structure foundations carrying two miles of electrical cabling at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, saving about 500 hours of working time on the manhole slabs alone.

Will it work on your site

Speed
Vendor: vertical construction customers save a day or more per floor on average; renewable energy and infrastructure customers cut rebar time by up to 90%.
What it prints
Cages, mats and mesh in standard rebar for caissons, columns, manhole covers, mats, piers, pile caps, pole foundations and shear walls.
BIM/CAD requirements
Rebar details or structural drawings imported into Toggle OS; its browser configurator sets bar gauge, dimensions, stirrup shape and spacing, then exports a 3D detail and the robot's coordinate geometry.
Autonomy
Robots place bars and make the welds or ties; skilled operators run the cell, and experts handle detailing, finishing, quality control and delivery.
Safety design
Industrial robots work inside a guarded cell with integrated safety systems; site crews receive finished cages and skip tying and welding inside excavations.
Control interface
Toggle OS, a cloud application used in a web browser, covers technical drawings, cage configuration, robotic motion planning and workflow management.

Environment
Indoor production in Toggle's own facility; the robots stay off the construction site.
Generation
First Weaver Workcell installed in Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 2022, with two more slated that summer.
Other capabilities
Robotic welding of heavy-gauge bar (#6 and above), which mesh machines cannot spot weld; mesh up to the length and width of a standard flatbed truck.
