Summary

Buildots is a cloud-based construction progress tracking platform that uses 360-degree cameras mounted on hard hats and computer vision to compare as-built conditions against BIM models and project schedules. It covers daily walkthrough documentation, BIM-to-field comparison, and defect identification across interior fit-out projects. The platform is shipping with 16 confirmed deployments across six countries.

Daily Walkthrough and Progress Documentation

A site worker wearing a hard-hat-mounted 360-degree camera walks the project once or twice per week; the walkthrough takes 30 to 60 minutes and doubles as the regular QC tour. The platform processes uploaded imagery against the BIM model in the cloud and generates progress dashboards, delay forecasts, and automated reports without manual data entry. A natural-language AI assistant (Dot) lets PMs query progress data from any device.

Defect Identification and Punch List / Closeout Tracking

Activity forecasting identifies high-risk items for proactive intervention rather than reactive remediation. An automated Line of Balance tool tracks repetitive work across floors, catching incomplete activities before they replicate on consecutive levels.

Environment Interior fit-out via hardhat-mounted 360 cameras; outdoor and underground utility tracking via drone imagery (launched 2025)
Surface All surfaces visible to 360-degree cameras Primarily interior fit-out based on documented deployments
BIM requirement BIM model required Must align with installations and maintain consistent naming
Site prep No physical site preparation BIM and schedule integration required before first capture
Capture workflow 30-60 min walkthrough, 1-2x/week; hard-hat-mounted 360 camera (platform is hardware-agnostic across commercial 360 camera models)
Power Battery-powered camera; cloud-based processing No on-site power infrastructure needed
Connectivity Internet required for data upload and web dashboard access; mobile app supports offline site walks and syncs when reconnected
Control interface Web dashboard (app.bldts.io); iOS and Android mobile apps (offline-capable for site walks)
Tracking scope Tracks construction elements visible to 360-degree cameras and mapped in the BIM model; tasks without clear visual cues (e.g. MEP testing, inspections) require manual input
Integrations Autodesk BIM 360/ACC/Build (listed on Autodesk Marketplace); Revizto via BCF export
Operator profile Existing site staff during routine QC walkthroughs; no dedicated operator required Buildots provides implementation training for camera capture procedure
