How it works on your site
Sunrise is a portable robotic assembly factory that Charge Robotics ships to a utility-scale ground-mount solar site, working with a separate autonomous vehicle that carries each finished bay out into the field. Steel tracks, brackets, fasteners and modules are fed into the line and assembled into 40-foot solar bays under machine-vision inspection, then driven to position and fastened, while steel pile driving and ground-post anchoring stay manual and a crew of operators, drivers and technicians stays on site with it. Charge Robotics says the system installs approximately 1 megawatt of solar capacity per day, and co-founder and CEO Banks Hunter says it keeps pace with a traditional crew of about 80 people, both from one April 2024 interview that gives no baseline, no conditions and no scope for that notional crew; Sunrise is pre-commercial, the one deployment on record is a February 2024 pilot with SOLV Energy at an unnamed desert site, and no source measures the system's output at any named site.
