How it works on your site

TyBOT is a gantry robot from Advanced Construction Robotics that rides screed rail or edge forms across a bridge or overpass deck and ties the bulk rebar intersections of the bottom and top mats on horizontal cast-in-place decks. Cameras find each intersection and the Tie Module ties every one, every other or every third, set separately per mat; the crew places and chairs the bar ahead of the robot, and the robot notifies its supervisor when a work area is done. On a Wisconsin interstate bridge deck TyBOT tied from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. while the union crew worked 7 to 3:30, and Barb Sheedy, owner of MKE Iron Erectors, told ENR that without it the firm would have needed a second crew on a second shift. TyBOT is shipping and has been sold for direct purchase since the TyBOT 3.0 launch in September 2024.
