How it works on your site
Sparky is an arm-mounted, teleoperated robot built by Hardhat Robotics for remote circuit breaker and switchgear energization on construction sites. A skilled electrician operates the robot from outside the arc flash boundary, keeping the operator clear of the hazard zone while the robot handles the physical switching. Sparky is pre-commercial; WND Ventures (DPR Construction's venture arm) is the first investor.
Testing & Commissioning
The electrician controls the robot's arm remotely to engage breakers, staying outside the arc flash zone for the switching operation. The robot requires a wireless link to the operator station; the crew still handles all non-energization commissioning tasks, inspections, and panel prep.
