How it works on your site
The Hive Machine Intelligence Equipment is a retrofit kit that adds autonomous and remote-operation capabilities to existing heavy machinery, confirmed on Volvo L120H wheel loaders and 30-ton front loaders. It covers site clearing, mass excavation, backfilling, and soil hauling, with a centralized Operation Station that lets one operator control machines across multiple sites. Hive Autonomy has been shipping since 2023 from Norway, with pilot deployments completed and a UK subsidiary incorporated in 2025.
Site Clearing and Mass Excavation (Cut)
The retrofit kit turns a standard 30-ton front loader into a remotely supervised autonomous machine. An operator at the Operation Station monitors and manages the loader while it runs excavation cycles; the crew stays out of the tunnel during active loading passes.
