How it works on your site
The TerraFirma Autonomous Earthmoving Platform is a retrofit kit that converts conventional excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, loaders, graders, and rollers into remotely operated or semi-autonomous machines. It covers site clearing, mass excavation, grading, backfilling, and subgrade preparation across the earthmoving scope; fine grading, utility trenching, and paving stay with conventional crews. The system is pre-commercial and backed by Bain Capital Ventures.
Earthmoving
Site Clearing and Mass Excavation (Cut)
The retrofit kit runs on the host machine's existing hydraulics and drivetrain; operators control the excavator or dozer from a remote Mission Control station rather than from the cab. Attachment swaps (grapple claw, hydraulic hammer) follow the same process as conventional machines.
Rough Grading and Contouring
The same retrofitted machines that handle mass excavation switch to grading passes. The operator remains at the remote station; no cab entry is required between task changes on a single machine.
